Types of Talks:
Introduction to Generation Life: In this session, Generation Life outlines its vision and mission…building a Culture of Life. Students will be told of the concept of chastity and how it is key to being happy, healthy, and holy in this world and in the next. Chastity is a virtue which gives us the freedom to love as we ought. The essence of chastity is respect: respect for God, respect for self, and respect for the dignity of others. We believe that the youth of this generation are longing for this lifestyle, which is the healthiest for them physically, spiritually, socially, intellectually and emotionally.
Beautiful Beginnings: Using video footage from the Discovery Channel and National Geographic, we take a journey into the womb. Students will be guided through the stages of fetal development and the miracle of life. This information will help students understand how abortion is an unthinkable “choice”, though a painful reality in our modern culture. This session will end with a real life story of courage and love.
Chastity: Truth and Freedom: Teens often think that freedom is being able to do “whatever they want, whenever they want.” In this session, students will explore the nature of authentic freedom as the ability to choose the good and to accept the demands of authentic love. These demands include the virtue of chastity. Students will be guided through discussions on modesty, speaking the truth with our bodies, chivalry, and respecting others in thought, word, and action. The students are then equipped with practical ways to live a life of chastity in the real world!
Vocations- Free, Total, Faithful, and Fruitful: The Sacrament of Marriage is a tangible and resounding image of God’s love for us. In this session, we will discuss how marriage mirrors Christ’s love for us. We will also explore and explain the single and religious life. Openness to receiving God’s love enables us to enter relationships of “giving and receiving” with others, and these relationships must be free, total, faithful, and fruitful, in order to fully imitate Christ. We will also re-cap our previous three sessions in an interactive way!
8th Grade Chastity Days: A lively gathering of 8th grade students brought together to celebrate the gift of living out a life of sexual purity! This dayis jam-packed with speakers, skits, music and comedy that present the chastity and pro-life messages in a fun and inspiring way. Being together with their peers is also a unique source of encouragement for these students.
